A new survey has predicted the outcome of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, with region-wise data predicting a favourable outcome for the ruling BJP. As per the survey released by News Leader Live and Matrize News Communications, the BJP appears to be gaining a strong lead in the Bundelkhand and Awadh regions.
Of the 118 seats in Awadh, the BJP alliance is projected to win 77, while the SP alliance is projected to win only 40. One seat is also projected to go to the BSP, the data said.
The BJP will dominate 19 seats in Bundelkhand. Here, 17 seats could go to the BJP alliance, while two seats could go to the SP alliance. The BJP has a significant lead in the 137 out of 403 seats.
District-wise seat breakdown shows the BJP winning one seat in Raebareli, while the SP alliance is expected to win five. Nine seats in Lucknow may go to the BJP, and none to the SP. In Lakhimpur Kheri, the BJP alliance may win six seats, while the SP alliance may win just two. In Sitapur, the BJP alliance may win six seats, while the SP alliance will end its run with three.
Eight seats in Hardoi and six seats in Unnao may go to the BJP. Out of two seats in Chitrakoot, the BJP alliance may win one seat, while the SP alliance could win one. All four seats in Jhansi are expected to go to the BJP alliance. In Bahraich, the BJP may win five seats, while the SP alliance is likely to win two.
Another surprising outcome will be in the Unchahar assembly seat. According to the opinion poll, three-time MLA and current cabinet minister Manoj Pandey appears to be losing this election. Pandey won landslide victories on the SP ticket in 2012, 2017, and 2022.
In a Vote Vibe survey conducted last month, people were asked which party or alliance they would vote for in the 2027 assembly elections. In response, 41.8 per cent chose the BJP-led NDA alliance, while 38.7 per cent favoured the Samajwadi Party-led alliance. In the survey, 5.2 per cent supported the BSP, while 4 per cent chose other parties. About 10.3 per cent remained undecided. This means the NDA has a 3.1 percentage-point lead over the SP alliance in voting preferences.
