An IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Dammam was forced to make an emergency landing at Ahmedabad Airport on Thursday after a bomb threat was found written on a tissue paper in the lavatory of the aircraft.

According to officials, the word, BOMB, was found written on the tissue paper in English. Following this, the flight landed at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 5.55 pm. All 133 passengers aboard the flight were safely evacuated and brought to Terminal 2.

The aircraft was moved to an isolation area and the security personnel checked the seats, cabin, luggage and cargo. No suspicious objects were recovered from the plane.

This incident comes 10 days after an Air India flight from Dammam to Delhi made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport. Interestingly, one of the crew members found a tissue paper from the lavatory and found the word, BOMB, written in English.

The authorities are probing if the two incidents are connected. They have collected handwriting samples from the passengers to cross-check the writing pattern on the note.

On September 5, another IndiGo flight from Calcutta to Gorakhpur was delayed by four hours after a bomb threat was found written on a toilet paper in the lavatory. The message on the paper read, "Bomb inside flight". The flight was reportedly ready to take off at 4.30 pm when the cabin crew member alerted about the threat. It finally departed at 8.30 pm after nothing suspicious was found.
