Eight people were killed in a tragic road accident in Kerala’s Thrissur district after the car they were travelling in rammed into a lorry parked on the highway late Friday night.
The accident took place at Panambikkunnu in Kaipamangalam around 11.40 pm. The car was completely mangled in the collision, and all eight persons died on the spot.
The deceased included seven students of an engineering college in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, and the car driver.
The victims were pulled out of the wreckage during a rescue operation involving local residents, fire and rescue personnel, and the police. Their bodies were later shifted to the mortuary of Thrissur Medical College.
