Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) volunteers faced an alleged assault by BJP workers during an attempt to inspect a government school in Jaipur, Rajasthan, as part of their initiative to highlight poor school infrastructure. The incident, which involved chases, beatings, and vehicle damage, has sparked political accusations, with the CJP claiming the BJP is obstructing efforts to improve conditions where children are reportedly learning in dilapidated settings and even unsuitable environments like buffalo sheds. Villagers corroborated the poor state of the school, built in 1999 and unrenovated, forcing a makeshift learning setup for students.

Members of the cockroach Janta Party, including spokesperson Ashutosh, were allegedly attacked during their attempt to visit a government school in Jaipur to inspect it on Friday.

Party founder Abhijeet Dipke accused a BJP worker of assaulting the group's volunteers and questioned the police.

The uproar erupted after the CJP sent its volunteers to the Bagru area of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Earlier this week, they had announced a statewide inspection of government schools to showcase their dilapidated condition.

Local reports say that the BJP workers chased and beat up the volunteers as they arrived at a government primary school in Rampura Kanwapuyra village.

CJP spokesperson Ranka said that the his team members were assaulted and that the windows of their vehicles were broken.

The atmosphere was tense, and a scuffle broke out.

The locals also reportedly threw sand and stones at the activists.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke took to X to say, "Ashutosh was attacked by BJP goons in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan police allowed this to happen."

Ranka meanwhile posted a video of the incident and alleged, “These are not the villagers from there, but goons summoned by the BJP. Their leader, Kamal Pradhan, engages in the work of encroaching on the land of poor people there.”

“Children are being taught in a cowshed among buffaloes, and when attempts are made to stop this, the BJP is sending its goons,” Ranka said.

In an earlier post with an embedded video, Ranka said, The BJP is fine with our children continuing to study in a buffalo shed, but if we try to get these schools fixed, that is not acceptable to them.

The villagers meanwhile say that the school building was in a dilapidated condition for a long time and that the children were forced to study inside a buffalo shed.

According to Ramin Vishnu Kumar Sharma, the school in the village was constructed in 1999 but hasn't been renovated since.

According to villagers, the school building is now so dilapidated that it's unsuitable for children to sit and study. Currently, villagers have provided two rooms in a larger building in the village where two teachers teach around 20 to 30 children.

Other locals said that they protested the CJP's arrival and said that the activists wanted to gain “political advantage over the school issue.
