A 25-year-old West Bengal man, Asafool Mallik, has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly conspiring with a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) member to plan attacks against India and the Pakistan Army. Mallik reportedly expressed anger over alleged Pakistani military atrocities against Muslims and its position on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Investigations are ongoing following the discovery of extensive communication between Mallik and an alleged TTP affiliate on his mobile phone.

A 25-year-old West Bengal native was arrested by the Bengaluru Police for allegedly conspiring with a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) member to join the group and plan attacks against both India and the Pakistan Army. 

The man identified as Asafool Mallik was detained from the Jigani area by the police over suspicious online activities and alleged connections with terror groups. 

According to the officials, Mallik was residing near APC Circle in Jigani and had been working as a security guard at Tata Advanced Limited in the Jigani Industrial Area since December 2025. 

While patrolling the Bommasandra Industrial Area, police received information regarding the suspicious activities of a West Bengal native.

During questioning, Mallik confessed that he was angry over what he believed were the Pakistani military's alleged atrocities against Muslims in Pakistan, including attacks on mosques and civilians. 

He was also allegedly angry over Pakistan's stand on the Israel-Palestine conflict. 

He was allegedly being urged to retaliate if Muslims faced difficulties in India. 

Police said that Mallik had allegedly established contact with a person named Imran Haider from Afghanistan through social media. Haider is believed to be associated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Mallik had allegedly sought Imran Haider's assistance to travel to Afghanistan and applied for a visa. However, police said he later abandoned the plan due to financial difficulties and family responsibilities.

Police subsequently examined Mallik's mobile phone and allegedly found chats between him and Haider, along with records of several voice calls and audio conversations. They are examining the contents of the chats, voice recordings and other material recovered from the accused's mobile phone to establish the extent of his alleged links.
