Suvendu Adhikari returns to Bhabanipur with massive 'Har Ghar Tiranga' rally; lakhs of flags distributed

The people of Bhabanipur witnessed Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari participating in the Tiranga rally on Friday amid a sea of saffron supporters. This was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 'Har Ghar Tiranga’ mission to create a sense of nationalism amongst people.

“The previous government was not part of the Har Ghar Tiranga mission. This time, with the blessings of people, we have formed a nationalist government. This government has joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Har Ghar Tiranga mission," said Suvendu Adhikari.

The mood of the rally was one of BJP supporters carrying the Indian flag walking the same path that Adhikari had taken with Union Home Minister Amit Shah after the former filed his nomination papers ahead of the Assembly elections.

That had been the first time Adhikari issued a challenge to former CM Mamata Banerjee on her turf, which had led to Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters standing in protest with minor clashes between both party supporters as the rally went past their supremo’s residential lane.

On Friday, when the rally went past the lane of Mamata's house, there was no protest—just a sea of men and women waving the national flag and holding cut-outs of party founder Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and PM Modi.

The tables have turned and Adhikari’s presence proved he is the king of the turf: once a near-impossible mission. Beyond capturing the reins of power in West Bengal, Adhikari now looks to consolidate his position in Bhabanipur and remind voters there that that he has not forgotten his constituency.

“As your chief minister and representative of Bhabanipur, I thank people for the massive turnout," added Adhikari, calling for a bigger Tiranga Yatra with 50,000 people on the August 10 from Red Road to the Birla Planetarium, calling it a historic rally in the making ahead of Independence Day.

“I ask all people who love their country to partake in the rally," said Adhikari.

The TMC had attacked the saffron party in the past for not understanding the culture and essence of West Bengal, which the BJP has not forgotten. As the sound of Vande Mataram echoed from the loudspeaker during the rally, Adhikari reiterated the importance the present government gives to the cultural ethos of the Indian soil, evoking a sense of nationalism and pride amongst the people of his Bengal.
