The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday announced that it has withdrawn the agitation with immediate effect and requested the students to return home peacefully after the Centre agreed to their key demands.

Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh assured the CJP delegation that the government will give in writing that it will drop cases against protesters by Tuesday. The Centre also promised mot to file casees against protesters in the future.

In the backdrop of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka said, "Our first demand has been met."

“Our demands were not radical but basic, and the government has now accepted all our demands after 36 days of protest; we urge everyone to peacefully withdraw from protests sites,” added Ranka during a joint press conference with Nadda and Union Minister Jitendra Singh.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the government assured that honorary compensation will be given to families of NEET suicide victims.

"As the government accepted all our demands, we call off our protests with immediate effect. We appeal everyone to go back home peacefully," CJP's spokesperson Saurav Das said.

The decision was taken during the third meeting between the Union ministers and the CJP delegation. A fourth meeting will follow up the negotiations after four weeks.

The CJP has led a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since June 20, demanding accountability over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE's on-screen marking process, besides seeking wider reforms in the conduct of public examinations.

The agitation has galvanised thousands of students in protests across the country and has been supported by major opposition parties.
