CJP Jantar Mantar protests: Delhi Police cancel all leave applications, training programmes
The order regarding the need for all police personnel across ranks to report for duty was reportedly issued with the approval of the Police Commissioner

The Delhi Police have reportedly issued an order cancelling all regular leave for its personnel with immediate effect. It is seen as a direct consequence of the protests by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar remaining unresolved.
In another directive, the Delhi Police have confirmed that until further orders, no police personnel, regardless of rank, will be allowed to participate in any training, course or other programme without the prior permission of the Police Commissioner.
The order regarding leave cancellations will apply to everyone, from constables to senior officers, Hindi media reported. No police personnel will be granted casual leave, earned leave or any other regular leave in view of the prevailing law-and-order situation, the order underlined.
The order directs all district Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and concerned officials to ensure strict compliance. In case of verified emergency cases, concerned personnel will have to get approval from the competent authority.
The Delhi Police on Thursday had stated that "there is no plan of a crackdown" on the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar tonight, dismissing claims made by former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal that security personnel could take such steps against the protesters.
"There is no plan of Delhi Police to crack down on the ongoing protest tonight as is being conveyed. You (Kejriwal) are advised to refrain from spreading or circulating any misleading/unverified information," police said in a post on X.
Widening the probe into the alleged violence during the ongoing protest, the Delhi Police are in the course of analysing CCTV footage, drone videos, mobile phone recordings and other digital evidence. Multiple teams have been formed to identify those involved in attacks on security personnel and damage to public property using the analysis, news agency PTI had reported. As per the department, 12 FIRs have been registered so far in connection with the violence, and they are planning to register additional cases as more evidence is examined and more accused are identified.
