Delhi Police and Rapid Police Force on Tuesday evening forcibly removed Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other MPs and detained them from their dharna site outside the Prime Minister's Residence on 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

Reports revealed that cops who detained Rahul and other MPs did not have a nameboard on their uniform and that the leaders were dragged through the road before being moved into vehicles.

Amid detention, Congress leaders vowed to continue their protests in the coming days, insisting on the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

MoS PMO Jitendra Singh, who met Rahul Gandhi outside the PM's residence, said the government assured the Opposition Leader that it was ready to discuss all issues related to NEET in Parliament.

"The government is ready to discuss in Parliament all issues related to NEET and the associated movement. Rahul Gandhi's behaviour does not align with principles of democracy," he said.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party slammed the Congress decision to hold dharna outside the PM's residence. Former Delhi chief minister Atishi questioned how Rahul was "allowed" to stage a dharna outside the PM's residence, while the government had refused to talk to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) supporters despite their month-long protest.

"This is amazing! CJP and Sonam Wangchuk: One month protest at Jantar Mantar. Modi govt refuses to talk to them... Rahul Gandhi: Allowed to protest outside PM residence. In one hour, Modi Govt starts dialogue. Wah! Kya jugalbandi hai!," the AAP leader said on X in Hindi.
