A railway ticket checker has reportedly been suspended following the emergence of a viral video depicting a First AC coach of the Nandigram Express being extravagantly decorated for a couple's wedding night, including improvised bedding, rose petals, garlands, and an "I Love You" cutout, all using Indian Railways' own linens. Investigations indicate the video is not AI-generated and that a private decorator, hired online, gained unauthorized access to the coach at Jalna station on July 6 to carry out the transformation, which is being treated as a significant security lapse by the Indian Railways, who have initiated a departmental probe into the incident.

A Railway TTR (Ticket checker) was reportedly suspended after a video showed a coach being transformed to celebrate the "Suhagraat" (first night post-wedding) of a couple. It was not an AI-generated video, an initial investigation reportedly found out.

The viral video captures the inside of an AC coach being vividly decorated with improvised bedding and accessories. The recording starts from the platform as the cameraman enters the AC compartment and gradually reaches the “Honeymoon coupe” — gradually walking past a few. Apart from roses, petals and garlands, a cutout that read "I Love You" was fitted above the vividly festooned setup.

Those familiar with the pillows and bed sheets provided by the Indian Railways for long-distance passengers would have no problem identifying them in the video. The branding of “INDIAN RAILWAYS” in blue was clearly evident in the video.

According to available information, it was a First AC compartment of the Nandigram Express (Train Number 11002) that underwent the transformation for the newly-married couple's journey. The Nandigram Express is a daily train that sets out on a two-day journey to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai from Balharshah.

Local media reports claimed that the Railway official faced the music after it was found that a private professional, hired online, entered the train on July 6 to decorate the interior of the coach. This unauthorised entry is treated as a serious lapse by the Railways, Navbharat Times said in a report. The decorator managed to enter the reserved coach when the train stopped at Maharashtra's Jalna, the report said.

As per the Railway Ministry, a departmental probe is underway.
