In a shocking incident in Agra, a woman allegedly killed her husband and buried his body beneath the bathroom floor before filing a missing complaint to mislead investigators.
The accused, Ruby Sharma, has been arrested after police uncovered what they described as a carefully planned murder.
According to police, her husband, Surendra Sharma (45), had been missing for the last one and a half months. During the initial investigation, Ruby even joined search efforts, appearing to assist police in locating him.
However, suspicion grew after Surendra’s brother raised concerns about her involvement, prompting police to question her in detail. During interrogation, she reportedly confessed to the crime.
Police said Ruby buried the body beneath the bathroom floor and then covered it with concrete to conceal the act. Acting on her disclosure, investigators excavated the bathroom floor and recovered skeletal remains.
Ruby allegedly told police that she took the extreme step after enduring years of domestic abuse. She claimed that her husband was unemployed and struggled with alcohol addiction.
A neighbour, Gaurav Dixit, said residents had repeatedly questioned Ruby about her husband’s disappearance, but she allegedly evaded their queries. He also added that the couple frequently quarrelled.
Police are now investigating whether there were any additional motives behind the killing and whether anyone else was involved in the crime.
