Pune fort murder: Dentist suspended for making ‘offensive’ remarks on Ketan Agarwal
All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association suspended Dr Muskan Soni for five years
While Maharashtra police investigate the alleged murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal by his fiancée and her male friend, who confessed to pushing him to his death at Lohagad Fort to avoid marriage, the All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association (AIDSA) has suspended a Madhya Pradesh-based dentist, Dr. Muskan Soni, for five years for making "inappropriate, offensive, and disrespectful" remarks about the deceased, as she violated the association's code of conduct and ethical values. In parallel, a Pune court extended the police custody of the accused fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhury, until July 3rd to further probe details like the precise crime scene within the fort and a missing passport, with investigators seeking to identify rehearsal locations.

Even as the Maharashtra police continue to investigate the murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, allegedly by his fiancee and her male friend, a Madhya Pradesh-based dentist has been suspended by the All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association (AIDSA) for allegedly mocking the incident.
In a statement, the association said Dr Muskan Soni had been suspended for five years for making "inappropriate, offensive, and disrespectful" remarks about Ketan.
"Dr Muskan Soni, appointed as Treasurer, AIDSA Madhya Pradesh, vide Appointment Order Ref. No. AIDSA/2025/3147 dated 05.07.2025, has been found to have committed acts of indiscipline and made highly inappropriate, offensive, and disrespectful remarks regarding the late Mr. Ketan Agrawal, in violation of the Constitution, Code of Conduct, and ethical values of AIDSA,” said the suspension order issued by the association's national president, Dr M.D. Manzur.
The order stated that Dr Soni had been suspended from all posts, offices, responsibilities, committees, memberships, and every official capacity she held within the association.
“During this period, she shall neither represent nor participate in any activity of AIDSA, nor exercise any rights, privileges or responsibilities associated with the Association, and shall not hold, contest for, or be appointed to any post within AIDSA,” it said.
Ketan Agarwal died on June 18 after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort. Although the incident was initially treated as an accident, the investigation revealed that he was pushed to his death allegedly by Siya Goyal (20) and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhury (22).
According to the police, Siya confessed that she did not want to marry Ketan and conspired with Chetan to kill him, fearing social stigma if she called off the wedding.
Meanwhile, a court in Pune on Monday extended the police custody of Siya and Chetan till July 3 after the prosecution argued that further investigation was required into aspects such as the exact location of the crime at the fort and a missing passport.
The prosecution told the court that the investigation had revealed the accused had visited the fort beforehand to identify a suitable location to kill Agarwal and that the police wanted to establish the locations where the alleged rehearsals were carried out.
