Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) national president Khader Mohideen has made a significant accusation against DMK chief M.K. Stalin, alleging that Stalin attempted to prevent the formation of a government led by the TVK (Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam) by exploring an alliance with the AIADMK-BJP, despite Stalin's public statements denying any efforts to hinder the TVK. Mohideen claims that after the election, he and another IUML leader met with Stalin, who initially seemed receptive to the idea of the TVK forming a government but then proposed that Edappadi Palaniswami of the AIADMK would be Chief Minister with DMK support. Mohideen further stated that Stalin then suggested VCK chief Thirumavalavan could become Chief Minister, a proposal Mohideen questioned due to Thirumavalavan not being an MLA at the time, leading the IUML to ultimately decide to align with the TVK and form the government in the state.

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) national president Khader Mohideen has made a shocking revelation against DMK chief M K Stalin, stating that the former Chief Minister attempted to stop TVK from forming the government in Tamil Nadu by joining hands with the AIADMK-BJP alliance.

Mohideen’s statement comes despite Stalin’s claim that he made no effort to prevent TVK chief C. Joseph Vijay from coming to power. Last month, while addressing a gathering in Chennai to welcome more than 1,000 AIADMK workers to the DMK, Stalin  said he had not opposed his allies' decision to support the TVK after the Assembly elections. "When they (alliance parties) informed me of their plans, I told them, you may  go, it is your choice and your democratic right; I will not stop you. I saw them off with the sole intention of preventing the imposition of President's rule in the state, which could have paved the way for BJP rule in Tamil Nadu," he said.

However, Mohideen claimed that he met Stalin with IUML state general secretary  Abubackr just after the election. The TVK, led by C Joseph Vijay, had by then approached the IUML to discuss forming a  government, according to Dinamani.

“Abubakar and I went to Anna Arivalayam. We informed him about the TVK seeking our support. The day before that, Stalin had requested the governor, urging him to invite those with more MLAs to form the government. We welcomed this. The next day, we went to Arivalayam again. Then he said the DMK was talking about forming a government under the leadership of Edappadi Palaniswami,” he said.

Mohideen added that Stalin himself told him that Palaniswami would be the chief  minister with DMK support. He said that he questioned Stalin, ‘what he was thinking’. “On the second day, the pressure was too much, and we went back. Then they said that VCK  chief Thirumavalavan was being positioned to become the Chief Minister. As soon as they told me this, I said he is not even an MLA. They said that he can be made an MLA in six months. I asked how they will accept it. I did not say anything beyond that,” Mohideen said.

It is after this meeting that the IUML decided to join the TVK. “The Muslim League is a party that reflects the opinion of the society. So I called a high-level meeting and  decided to join the TVK,” he added.

IUML ditched the DMK to join the TVK, following which they formed the government in the state.
