Pune Fort murder: Siya Goyal tells police the real reason she didn't want to marry Ketan Agarwal
Siya Goyal, the prime suspect in the murder of Ketan Agarwal, the son of a Pune construction businessman, revealed some of her motives behind her conspiring to kill him along with her lover Chetan Choudhary
Siya Goyal, the primary suspect in the murder of Ketan Agarwal, the son of a Pune construction businessman, has confessed to police that her reasons for not wanting to marry her fiancé and subsequently pushing him off a cliff to his death stemmed from her significant dislike of Ketan, particularly his baldness concealed by a hairpiece and his stammer, coupled with her involvement with another man, Chetan Choudhary, who was also arrested in connection with the crime. Goyal stated that she feared damaging her family's reputation by refusing the marriage outright, leading her to orchestrate Ketan's death during a trek at Lohagad fort, believing the location would minimize suspicion and that surveillance cameras would prevent her discovery, though she later admitted to discussing the murder plan with Choudhary beforehand.

Siya Goyal, the main accused in the murder of Ketan Agarwal, the son of Pune-based construction businessman Visha Agarwal, told police the real reason she did not want to marry her fiancé and why she pushed him off a cliff to kill him on Friday.
According to police, Siya, who turned 20 earlier this month, said that Ketan was bald and that he used a hairpiece or a wig cap. The detail bothered her, police said. She claimed that not many people knew of Ketan’s baldness. He also reportedly had a stammer while speaking.
She also said that she never really liked him. When the families decided to get the two married, the Goyal family was informed of Ketan’s conditions.
However, Siya’s family didn't think it was a major issue.
She told police that she couldn't get along with Ketan despite her efforts to proceed with the relationship.
Apart from these reasons, Siya was also in a relationship with Chetan Choudhary, who was also arrested for the murder.
When asked why she didn't just tell her family and refuse the marriage proposal instead of killing Ketan, she said. "I didn't want to hurt my family. If this marriage had been broken, our family's reputation would have been ruined."
Siya said that the easiest solution was to 'remove Ketan from the path forever'. If Ketan falls and dies while trekking at Lohagad, there wouldn't be many questions.
She also said that she thought there were many CCTV cameras at the fort and that 'no one would find out'.
Before the killing, Siya and Chetan had gone to a cafe to reportedly discuss how they would carry out the murder.
Siya’s family has not visited her in jail since her arrest.
Her father is currently admitted to a hospital after he suffered a medical emergency after hearing about the murder. Meanwhile, Chetan Choudhary’s father visited him in jail.
Investigators say that both the accused have turned against each other in their statements. Siya claimed that Chetan pressured her to commit the murder by telling her that she was not capable of doing it. Meanwhile, Chetan claimed that it was Siya who masterminded the entire conspiracy.
Police, who spoke to APBLive, said that neither has shown remorse for their actions.
