Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde on Thursday warned that more leaders are set to leave the Shiv Sena (UBT), arguing that its chief, Uddhav Thackeray, has "lost his ground" and is struggling to keep his party unified, according to a report.

A total of nine MPs were elected on the Shiv Sena (UBT) tickets, out of which six have joined the rival Shiv Sena headed by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

While speaking to CNN-News18, Shrikant Shinde, son of Eknath, claimed that Thackeray's inaccessibility to his own MLAs and MPs is causing growing dissatisfaction among leaders and party cadre. He pointed out that many who have already left were founding members of the original Shiv Sena. However, he did not clarify whether those allegedly leaving Thackeray's party included MPs and MLAs.

"Today, Uddhav Thackeray is calling them bad, but these are the very people who built the party," he said. Shinde contrasted this with the leadership of his father, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, whom he described as more accessible and trustworthy. "In our party, we listen even to the grievances of corporators," he noted. "That is why people have faith in Eknath Shinde's leadership."

Additionally, Shinde criticised UBT leader Sanjay Raut for his "abusive language," which he claimed is driving people away from the party. "Picture abhi baki hai," he concluded, emphasising that the new additions will further increase the NDA's influence in the state.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will take decisions on the defections in Shiv Sena (UBT) and Trinamool Congress before the monsoon session of Parliament. The session is expected to start in the third week of July.

Meanwhile, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and the party's working president Supriya Sule on Thursday asserted that no MP from their party would defect to the rival faction. They were responding to NCP MLA Dharmarao Atram's claim that five of the eight MPs from Sharad Pawar's party were prepared to join the NCP.
