A friend of actress Krishi Thapanda, Vaishak, who had previously been jailed in a case involving alleged threats made to a businessman, died by suicide on the night of June 24.
According to reports, Vaishak was staying at Krishi's residence on Wednesday night, although she was away. At night, Vaishak allegedly called her and said that he intended to take his own life. Krishi immediately informed her family members about the conversation. It was later discovered that Vaishak had died by suicide, TV9 Kannada said in a report.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Police Station. Vaishak's body was shifted to Victoria Hospital. According to available information, no suicide note has been recovered so far, the TV9 Kannada report said.
Vaishak made news in connection with an incident in February when businessman Aravind Reddy reportedly received an anonymous threat letter. Krishi Thapanda had recently filed a complaint against Aravind Reddy. In connection with the same case, Vaishak had allegedly written the threatening letter to Aravind Reddy.
It was reported that a garage worker was allegedly used to confuse the investigators. The threatening letter was sent through a Blue Dart courier outlet near Banashankari. According to reports, the courier was deliberately sent from a different location to mislead investigators.
During the investigation, police first took the garage worker into custody and questioned him about who had given him the letter to courier. The boy reportedly told investigators that he had done so on the instructions of his boss. The investigation reportedly confirmed that the letter had been sent by Vaishak, a friend of actress Krishi Thapanda, following which he was arrested.
Based on a complaint filed by Aravind Reddy, a case was registered at the HAL Police Station. Police launched an investigation and began searching for the accused, during which Vaishak was apprehended.
