Trinamool Congress(TMC) national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee was questioned by investigators for a third consecutive day in three different cases. On Tuesday, the TMC MP was questioned for 6.5 hours by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in relation to a case about controversial comments made ahead of assembly elections in Arambagh in Hooghly district.
"No matter how Mamata wins, the steering will be in my hands. The DJ will definitely play songs in such a way that it will rip their ears." Abhishek Banerjee had said in the rally, prompting the complainant to approach the Baguihati police station, which comes under the Biddhanagar police commisionerate.
After receiving the summons, Abhishek questioned why no action was taken against the instigating comments made by senior BJP leader Amit Shah. However, he mentioned that he would cooperate with investigators in all cases.

Mamata Banerjee files petition at Calcutta High Court
Mamata Banerjee has chosen to remain quiet amidst Abhishek's tryst with investigating agencies. The former Chief Minister also chose to remain silent while entering the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday to challenge the assembly results of the Bhabanipur constituency declared by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Mamata was accompanied by leaders Derek O'Brien, Dola Sen, Kunal Ghosh and Kalyan Banerjee. She lost to current Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari from her stronghold and alleged counting irregularities by the EC officials.
For both Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, staying politically afloat has become a challenge. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) is facing a crisis, with the party reportedly divided into three camps. Abhishek continues to face investigations in multiple cases, while the TMC supremo is struggling to keep her support base within the party united and is also hoping the judiciary provides a silver lining. At the same time, Mamata appears keen to reinforce her political narrative as a leader who has been wronged, particularly in the wake of the controversy surrounding the Bhabanipur Assembly seat. The key question, however, is will the victim card favour Mamata.
