A 22-year-old Sikkim woman's throat was slit by her boyfriend in Bengaluru's Doddakannahalli. The youngster, who was working as a receptionist at a salon, was found dead at her rented accommodation, Bengaluru Police told the press.
While the victim was identified as Ati Hanga Subba, the accused has been named as Purba Lepcha of Darjeeling. According to the reports, he used to work as a hotel waiter.
It has been a month since the duo reached Bengaluru, The Times of India said in a report. Suspecting infidelity, Purba Lepcha slit the woman's throat using a kitchen knife on Sunday morning. The lethal attack happened after the couple fought at their residence, the daily quoted the police as saying.
While a probe is underway, it was not known if the accused man has been arrested.
