The NTA statement comes 2 days after netizens claimed that several Telegram channels and private groups were allegedly 'selling RE-NEET2026 question papers'.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday dismissed claims that the question paper for the NEET re-test on June 21 had already been leaked.

"Certain messages circulating on social media and messaging platforms claiming a 'leak', advance access, or 'sale' of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination question paper ... are false, fraudulent, and intended to mislead," the agency wrote on X.

It added that the integrity of the exam was in place, and that every safeguard was in place to secure a "fair and secure" exam for all candidates.

This comes two days after netizens claimed on X that several Telegram channels and private groups were allegedly "selling RE-NEET2026 question papers".

One user even added links to three such Telegram groups in his post to back up his claims.

The screenshots show multiple groups with around 1,000 members each, all claiming to have the leaked paper, with one group allegedly offering to sell it for a starting price of Rs 35,000.

Other visuals circulating online show what looks like printers printing a large number of the leaked papers.

Some netizens have also alleged that many of the groups were operated by a single person, and have urged the NTA and Cyberdost—the official handle of the I4C—to investigate the matter before the exam begins.

Online opinion remains divided over whether a leak has happened or not. In fact, while some netizens claimed that some of the images posted by the groups were fake, others lashed out at the NTA over the possible leak.

The distrust also stems from the recent issues with the CBSE's Post-Result Activities Portal, which the board did not accept until teenager Nisarga Adhikary, an ethical hacker, demonstrated serious flaws with the system.

Notably, in Adhikary's case, the CBSE had strongly insisted that there was nothing wrong with its portal, only admitting the portal's faults after Adhikary's post highlighting the flaws.

Another teenager, Sarthak Sidhant, also went viral for allegedly exposing possibly fraudulent practices behind the contract for the controversial On-Screen Marking (OSM) system being awarded to Coempt Eduteck.

These fresh allegations against the NTA were also the focus of the protests at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi by the satirical outfit Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which is calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Calls for Pradhan's resignation, which have significantly grown since the NEET paper leak—and the aspirant suicides that followed—and the backlash around CBSE's OSM system.
