A protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by Abhijeet Dipke, is scheduled for Saturday, calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan due to alleged corruption and lapses in exam administration. However, one of the key whistleblowers, 18-year-old student Sarthak Siddhant, who exposed irregularities in the tendering process for the CBSE's online marking system, has urged Dipke and the CJP to ensure their movement is driven by a genuine cause rather than a pursuit of "internet attention." Siddhant, who has presented his findings to a parliamentary panel, clarified his intention to remain non-political but stressed the importance of student campaigns having an "actual cause," cautioning against movements that are merely performative online activism without active participation.

Even as the members of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, is set to hold a "peaceful, constitution‑bound protest" on Saturday, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the lapses and alleged corruption in holding various exams, one of the three CBSE-OSM whistleblowers, Sarthak Siddhant, has come out with a message for the outfit and its leader.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Siddhant urged Dipke to make sure that the CJP is driven by a genuine cause and not "internet attention."

Siddhant, the 18-year-old student from Jharkhand affected by the CBSE's online marking system, had pointed out "irregularities" in the tendering process to select a vendor for the on-screen marking (OSM) system for Class XII board exams. He had also made a presentation before a parliamentary panel on Tuesday on the alleged irregularities in the OSM tendering process.

While he clarified that he would not "get political", Sidhant said any outfit or campaign by students should have "an actual cause."

The Saturday (June 6) mobilisation and agitation was announced by Dipke, who said he was returning to India to launch a peaceful protest demanding Pradhan's resignation.

According to Siddhant, "internet activism is okay", but "sitting on their back seats and not doing anything is not".

The student activist clarified that he would not support a movement that is merely aimed at getting traction online.

“Yes, internet activism is okay. What I did, what Nisarg (“ethical hacker” Nisarga Adhikary) did, and what Vedant (Vedant Shrivastava) did was internet activism in general. But I would say they are sitting on their back seats, and if they are not doing anything, they are not actively participating in anything; that is a bad thing,” he was quoted as saying.
