The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to recreate the scene of Twisha Sharma's death, where she was found hanging in her marital home, by taking her husband, Samarth Singh, and his mother, Giribala Singh, to their residence. This recreation is crucial as Samarth claims he removed Twisha from the noose with his mother's help untying the knot, and investigators will use an 80 kg dummy to test the feasibility of his account, also examining if the belt used could support such weight. Giribala Singh was arrested on Thursday after her anticipatory bail was quashed, while Samarth was already in custody, with the CBI having formally taken over the probe and re-registered the FIR which names both as accused. Twisha was brought to the hospital by Samarth claiming she hanged herself, but the post-mortem report indicated antemortem hanging by ligature along with multiple antemortem injuries from blunt force trauma, prompting the FIR which was filed after statements from Twisha's family.

Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh will be taken to their residence by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team probing the Twisha Sharma case to recreate how she was taken down from the noose.

Samarth Singh, the late Twisha's husband, reportedly maintains that he had taken her down from the noose and that his mother, Giribala Singh, helped to untie the knot around her neck. Thus, the recreation of the scene gains prominence in the investigation. Twisha was found hanging from the roof of their house on the night of Tuesday, May 12.

The probe team is planning to use an 80 kg dummy to put Singh's claims regarding having brought Twisha down to the test, NDTV said in a report. He will be asked to bring down the dummy exactly the way he did with Twisha, before his mother is asked to untie the knot. An in-depth analysis will also be conducted to find out if Samarth's statements match the crime scene and circumstances, the report added.

Since the young victim had used a belt, the probe team will also find out if it could hold the weight of the dummy.

It was on Thursday that the CBI arrested former district judge Giribala Singh in connection with the death of her daughter-in-law. It came a day after the Madhya Pradesh High Court quashed her anticipatory bail. Samarth, a lawyer by profession, was already in the custody of the agency.

The CBI formally took over the probe on Monday, re-registering the FIR originally filed by the Madhya Pradesh Police, which names both Samarth and Giribala Singh as accused.

Twisha was allegedly found hanging at her marital home on May 12. According to the FIR, Samarth had brought her to AIIMS Bhopal, claiming she had hanged herself at home at 10:20 pm. Doctors at the hospital informed the police at 12:05 am on May 13 that she was dead on arrival.

The subsequent post-mortem report showed that whilst the cause of death was "antemortem hanging by ligature", there were also "multiple antemortem injuries (simple in nature, possibly by blunt force over other parts of the body)."

Following the autopsy report and statements from Twisha's family, the police registered an FIR early on May 15.
