In a shocking incident, a former sarpanch and Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader was found murdered in Yerkaram village in Suryapet district in Telangana.
According to police officials, Chintalapati Madhu was attacked by three assailants who killed him. He was also dismembered into three parts.
The remains were packed into three separate gunny bags and dumped onto a nearby SRSP canal before the accused fled the scene.
The horrific murder came to light after residents found the suspicious bags in the canal. They alerted authorities, and police rushed to the spot to recover the remains.
The deceased was moved to the Suryapet District General Hospital for postmortem examinations.
Police said that the murder took place at around 11:30 pm.
The body was found at around 3:00 am.
Madhu was the main accused in the murder of Saroanch Midde Ravinder, who was killed a couple of years ago. The murder had created intense factional tensions over the past few years. Police suspect that the former sarpanch’s son is involved in the killing.

A case has been registered, and an investigation has been initiated
The village has a history of political murders. Madhu’s father, Chinthalapati Veeraiah, was accused of the murder of Midde Ravinder, which took place 20 years ago.
In 2020, former Sarpanch Onteddu Venkanna was killed during local elections.
Congress party leader Yellaiah was also killed in 2024.
