After the shocking death of Twisha Sharma, efforts are on to trace her absconding husband Samarth Singh, a Bhopal-based lawyer.
Twisha's husband has been at large after an FIR was lodged under BNS Section 80 (2) over dowry death. This comes as his anticipatory bail plea is scheduled for May 18.
The Bhopal Police have launched a manhunt and the Deputy Commissioner of Police has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for any information leading to the arrest of Samarth.

The police have also cancelled Samarth's passport as he is considered a flight risk amid the ongoing probe.
Samarth's mother Giribala Singh is a retired district judge and currently a member of consumer court. She was given anticipatory bail within 24 hours of lodging FIR, drawing flak from Twisha's family. They accused Samarth's family of subjecting Twisha to mental harassment over dowry demand.
Twisha, 33, who hailed from Noida was found hanging at her marital home in Katara Hills, Bhopal on May 12. She met her lawyer husband through a dating app in 2024, following which they tied the knot in December 2025.
They staged a protest outside Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's official residence in Bhopal, seeking a second post-mortem at AIIMS Delhi. He body reportedly was kept in the mortuary of AIIMS Bhopal for the five days. They also sought to transfer the legal proceedings in the case to a court outside Madhya Pradesh, fearing influence of the mother-in-law, who is a judge.
Navnidhi Sharma, the father of Twisha, allaged that Samarth is a "major drug addict".
"We are demanding an independent investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court," Navnidhi said. "I strongly suspect this was murder."
Twisha's family revealed that she wanted to leave Bhopal and return to Noida and she was reportedly in touch with them until around 10 pm on Tuesday shortly before she died.
The SIT probing the death of Twisha are also investigating allegations of physical assault and attempts to destroy evidence.
