The Congress party has extended conditional support to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to form the government following Vijay’s party’s stunning victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge for Tamil Nadu, Girish Chodankar, said the party’s support would be contingent on TVK ensuring that no “communal forces” are included in the alliance.

“Our support shall be conditional upon the TVK keeping out from this alliance any communal forces that do not believe in the Constitution of India,” Chodankar said in a statement.
