Exit polls for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections has positioned actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as a significant new force, even as most projections indicate a return to power for the ruling DMK-led alliance under Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.

Surprisingly, Axis My India's exit poll results have been the only one to predict Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to secure 98-120 seats, with the half mark at 118 in the 234-seat House.

The elections, held on April 23 across the state, witnessed a record voter turnout of over 84 percent, reflecting heightened public engagement.

The other pollsters that predicted TVK's result are as follows:

Matrize - 10-12 seats

P-Marq- 16-26 seats

People's Pulse- 18-24 seats

JVC- 8-15 seats

Kamakhya Analytics- 67-81 seats

While exit polls broadly suggest that the DMK alliance is likely to retain power, TVK's performance in the assembly elections has also been discussed.

Analysts opine that the party’s appeal, driven by actor Vijay’s immense popularity and outreach, has cut into the traditional vote banks of both the DMK and AIADMK. It also needs to be seen how the party can wade through the election results by emerging as a decisive power factor.

The final verdict will be known on May 4, when votes are counted across the state and all eyes will remain on whether Vijay’s political gamble can yield success.
