The family of Nida Khan, who is accused of forcible religious conversion at the Nashik unit of the IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has claimed that she is pregnant, according to reports. This comes as Khan, who is absconding and reportedly hiding in Mumbai, moved court seeking anticipatory bail.
Khan approached the court on Thursday seeking relief, citing that she is pregnant. It is expected that the authorities may seek confirmation regarding her pregnancy status through medical channels.
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team is working to take Nida Khan into custody. Nine FIRs have been registered so far based on employee complaints. These include serious allegations such as sexual harassment, repeated sexual assault under threat, and forced religious conversion.
The charges include Khan’s role in a WhatsApp group targeting office employees. She was also accused of pressuring employees to pray and eat non-vegetarian food.
There are also unconfirmed reports that the Khan was not an HR manager as previously disclosed but a telecaller in the company.
