DMK Youth Wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin, on Thursday, filed his nomination papers for the assembly elections from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency, from where he is seeking a second term.
The 48-year-old DMK scion declared total family assets worth over ₹33 crore in his election affidavit.
Udhayanidhi has declared personal movable assets worth ₹12.92 crore and immovable assets valued at ₹7.72 crore.
According to a report in The News Minute, this total of ₹20.64 crore is less than the amount he declared during the 2021 assembly polls. His net worth then was ₹27 crore.
However, his spouse, Krithika Udhayanidhi, possesses movable assets to the tune of ₹13.25 crore and holds no immovable property. This is a sharp jump from the ₹1.15 crore in 2021 that was declared in 2021.
Among his movable assets, Udhayanidhi listed a Land Rover Defender purchased in 2023 for ₹1 crore and a Toyota Innova valued at ₹23 lakh. For the financial year 2024-2025, he reported an annual income of ₹10,40,620, while his spouse declared an income of ₹2,92,54,570.
His primary sources of income include his MLA salary, remuneration from the cinema industry, interest on deposits, rent, and dividends.
According to the New Minute report, In 2021, Udhayanidhi’s declared movable assets included a ₹7.3 crore stake in his film production and distribution firm, Red Giant Movies. However, this investment does not appear in the latest affidavit, even as Kiruthiga lists a ₹2.63 crore holding in the company.
