It has now been decided from which constituencies the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) members, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) and the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), will fight the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026.
Virudhachalam, Virudhunagar, Dharmapuri, Gudiyattam (SC), Salem West, Polur, Pallavaram, Thiruttani, Omalur, and Mailam have been allotted to the DMDK, while Thol Thirumavalavan's VCK will enter the fray from Kattumannarkoil (SC), Cheyyur (SC), Thiruporur, Arakkonam (SC), Tindivanam (SC), Periyakulam (SC), Kallakurichi (SC), and Panruti.
Founded by later Tamil actor Vijayakanth, DMDK is presently led by Premalatha Vijayakanth. They were part of the NDA alliance earlier but decided to switch allegiance earlier this year.

The VCK got four incumbent legislators in the assembly while the DMDK got none. Thiruporur, Cheyyur, Kattumannarkoil and Nagapattinam are the constituencues that are currently represented by the VCK.
Meanwhile, it was decided that the Congress, which is the second biggest constituent of the ruling alliance in Tamil Nadu, will contest from Ponneri (SC), Sriperumbudur (SC), Sholingur, Udhagamandalam, Erode East, Nanguneri, Vilavancode, Aranthangi, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Karaikudi, Sivakasi, Thiruvadanai, Srivaikuntam, Attur (SC), Pennagaram, Singanallur, Ambasamudram, Usilampatti, Colachel, Sankarankoil, Melur, Velachery, Uthangarai (SC), Thuraiyur (SC), Goundampalayam, and Killiyoor.
