With barely a month left for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the pre-poll surveys are predicting the outcome of the four-cornered elections, which will see DMK fighting its main opposition, the BJP-AIADMK alliance, new entrant actor Vijay’s TVK and Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi.
An opinion poll conducted by Vote Vibe states that the DMK alliance is likely to win 113 to 123 seats while the AIADMK alliance is likely to win 106 to 116 seats. Vijay’s TVK is likely to win 2 to 8 seats. The poll was released by News 18.
When asked who they wanted to be the Chief Minister in 2026, 39.9% chose current Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, 37.5% chose former Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, and 14.7% chose TVK leader Vijay.
On how they view the contest, 41.2% said it would be a completely two-way contest, while 12.6% said it would be somewhat two-way, while 18.7% said it would be a
three-way contest. Only 12% said it would be a completely three-way contest. An estimated 15.6% said they were undecided.
Another survey conducted by Parawheel, a tech-driven political intelligence research and election forecasting firm powered by KK Surveys & Strategies Pvt Ltd, found that DMK will emerge the front runner with 41.5% vote share, AIADMK with 36.2%, and TVK emerging as the third major political force with 13.6%.
Interestingly, the Parawheel’s survey also found that TVK would show significant strength across several constituencies, emerging as the second strongest political force after DMK in Chennai region.
The team, led by Loyola College alumni and election strategist Thirunavukkarasu.C, too held a pre-poll survey which predicted that DMK will lead the race with 25.3 per cent votes. Vijay’s TVK will get 24.7%, and AIADMK will get 22.8%. There are also assumptions that a coalition government will be formed in Tamil Nadu.
