Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) veteran Sharad Pawar is doing well and resting at the hospital, the medical team reportedly confirmed on Monday. The veteran leader has been eating properly and has now fully recovered, Marathi media reports quoted the doctors as saying.
Sharad Pawar was admitted to Pune's Ruby Hospital yesterday. All medical tests have been completed and the results are satisfactory, Lokmat quoted the doctors who attended the senior leader as saying. There was no need for any concern and he is likely to be discharged from the hospital within the next 48 hours, the report added.
“Pawar Saheb’s health is now absolutely fine. He has taken good rest and will be going home the day after tomorrow. He will stay in Pune for the next few days and then return to Mumbai. He will need to rest for a couple more days. He is eating properly, having a good breakfast, and everything is fine,” the doctors were quoted as saying by Lokmat.
Sharad Pawar was rushed to the hospital with dehydration reportedly caused by vomiting. He was put on a saline drip. His blood tests were conducted, and a CT scan was also performed.
The 85-year-old leader was admitted to the same hospital last week after complaining of difficulty breathing and a chest infection. Doctors prescribed him a five-day course of antibiotics, and he was discharged on Saturday. Although doctors advised him to rest for three to four days, his condition did not improve, forcing him to be readmitted.
The hospital administration on Sunday had appealed to supporters and activists to refrain from crowding the hospital to avoid inconvenience to other patients.
