As the results to 12 Zilla Parishad elections and 125 Panchayat Samiti elections come out, the ruling BJP has established a clear lead, early reports claim. The saffron party has emerged as the single largest party in the state.
Early reports hint that the BJP has won 176 seats in the Zilla Parishad, while Shiv Sena has won 109 seats. While NCP has 92 seats, Congress has 37. The Uddhav Thackeray Sena’s -24, NCP-Sharad Pawar-16 and others in 24 seats.
According to information received so far, the BJP has gained an edge in areas like Sangli, Satara, and Panvel. Meanwhile, the NCP is significantly ahead in Ajit Pawar's stronghold, Baramati. It is believed that the NCP may have benefited from a sympathy wave following Ajit Pawar's death. Ajit Pawar was considered a prominent leader in the Pune and Marathwada regions, and he had a strong hold in this area.
In Solapur, the NCP is leading in 24 seats so far. It has also gained ground in Pune. Congress has yet to open its account in Solapur. In Satara, the BJP leads in 32 seats. Furthermore, the NCP leads in 17 seats, and the Shiv Sena in 10.
In Kolhapur, the official results of 19 out of 68 seats have been announced, and the Congress has won the maximum 6 seats. The Nationalist Congress Party and the BJP have won 4 seats each, and Shinde Sena has won 3 seats. Janasurajya has also won 2 seats.
In Ratnagiri, Shiv Sena has dominated the Asage and Bhambed Zilla Parishad groups in Lanja taluka of Ratnagiri district.
This result has made it clear that the dominance of the Mahayuti in Lanja taluka has been strengthened.
However, Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, which had not achieved much success in many municipal elections in the state, including the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, at least made a good start on the day of the Zilla Parishad elections. MNS has opened its account in Latur. For the first time, an MNS candidate has been elected to the Latur Zilla Parishad.
