The case of Yuvraj Mehta, the 27-year-old software engineer in Noida who fell into a pit full of water on January 16, continues to bring out a number of shocking revelations.

Mehta had been driving at night from his Gurugram office to his home in the Tata Eureka Park in Noida's Sector 150.

However, during the journey, his car broke through the boundary of a drain and ended up in the pit—said to be more than 20 feet deep—where he called for help, but eventually drowned.

Moninder Singh, a delivery agent who went viral for his brave attempt to rescue the drowning techie, has now alleged that the police had pressured him to stay away from the media and record a scripted video about the incident.

“I was directed to give statements in favour of the police, saying that cops were inside the water and did all possible efforts to rescue Yuvraj Mehta,” Singh claimed, as per a Hindustan Times report.

He also alleged that the police had scolded him for recording a viral video criticising government lapses at the site of the tragedy.

He also claimed they had intimidated him into recording a new video about the incident—as he had been one of the only eyewitnesses in the case.

While he did record the video out of fear, the delivery agent alleged that he later changed his mind.

"I decided that I am the only eyewitness in the case and I will stand with the truth,” he added, saying that he was also reportedly asked to "disappear" for 5-10 days.

The police have not yet issued a statement after Singh's allegations went public.
