Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress on Sunday, accusing the Opposition party of aiding infiltrators and blocking the Union government's schemes in the state.
Addressing Bharatiya Janata Party's rally in Singur, the prime minister charged the Mamata Banerjee-led government hasn't been cooperating with the Centre to block infiltration. "The Trinamool Congress government is playing with the security of West Bengal and the country as well, so the youth here, in particular, need to be extremely cautious. TMC provides all kinds of facilities to infiltrators," Modi charged.
Modi charged Banerjee is conducting protests to protect infiltrators. "For the past 11 years, the Central government has been repeatedly writing letters to the TMC government that fencing needs to be installed on the Bengal border, for which land is required, but the TMC doesn't care. TMC provides patronage to such gangs that give protection to infiltrators and create fake documents for them. The time has come when infiltration must be completely stopped," he added.

The prime minister alleged the West Bengal government is blocking various development schemes of the Centre. "I am constantly striving to serve Bengal's youth, farmers, mothers, and sisters in every possible way, but the TMC government here does not even allow the central government's schemes to reach you properly," he alleged. Modi charged that the TMC was taking out its enmity towards the BJP and Modi on the people of Bengal.
Comparing TMC with the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, Modi said, "There was a similar government in Delhi that did not allow the central schemes to be implemented, hence, the people of Delhi showed them the door. The people of Bengal have resolved that the people here are going to teach a lesson to the ruthless TMC government so that a BJP government is formed here too and the Ayushman Bharat scheme is implemented in Bengal as well."
