In a shocking incident, two girls were found hanging at a Sports Authority of India (SAI) hostel in Kollam, Kerala, on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Sandra (18), a native of Kozhikode, and Vaishnavi (16), who hails from Thiruvananthapuram.

According to reports, the girls were found hanging in their room at 5 am after other students noticed they had not shown up for the morning training session.

When the door was found locked, the students checked through the window and saw the duo hanging.

Vaishnavi, a Class 10 student, was a Kabaddi player, while Sandra, a Plus Two student, was an athlete. Police said Vyshnavi was staying in a different room but had spent Wednesday night in Sandra's room.
