Digvijaya Singh's dig at Congress, praise for Modi and RSS corners party leadership: 'This is the power of organisation'

Digvijaya Singh praises the organisational power of the BJP and the RSS | Quora, Rahul R. Pattom

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Saturday sparked fresh political controversy after praising the organisational power of the BJP and the RSS.

The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister shared an old photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the 1990s when he was a BJP karyakarta. He is seen seated on the floor next to veteran BJP leader LK Advani who is sitting on a chair.

"I found this picture on the Quora site. Very impressive. How the RSS is grounded in volunteers and the Jana Sangh/BJP. Once sitting on the floor at the feet of leaders, he went on to become a state's chief minister and the country’s PM. This is the power of organisation. Jai Siya Ram," he said in an X post.

Hinting at whom he directed the message, Singh tagged Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, Priyanka Gandhi and PM Modi in the post.

This comes a week after Singh urged party high command to reform the Congress, which needed "pragmatic decentralised functioning." Addressing Rahul Gandhi, he posted last week, "I am sure you would do it because I know you can do it. Only problem is that it is not easy to 'convince' you."

Following this, BJP slammed Rahul Gandhi. "Will Rahul Gandhi show courage and react to the shocking 'truth bomb' dropped by Digvijaya Singh, which has totally exposed how Congress's first family ruthlessly runs the party in a dictatorial manner and also how autocratic and undemocratic this Congress leadership is?" wrote BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan.

However, after sparking the controversy, Singh claimed that his intention was only to praise the BJP's organisational structure and that he would continue opposing the saffron party.
