Indigo flight disruption Day 5: Over 400 flights cancelled across India, more passengers left stranded

The IndiGo flight disruption crisis continues for a fifth day as over 400 flights are cancelled across major airports in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru

 IndiGo’s flight crisis continued for a fifth day on Saturday as the airline had to cancel more than 440 of its flights even after the DGCA rolled back some rules to ease the chaos.

On December 6, a total of 124 flights, 63 departures and 61 arrivals, were cancelled at Bengaluru, and 109 flights were cancelled at Mumbai airport.

About 106 flights, including 54 departures and 52 arrivals, were cancelled in Delhi, according to sources.

In Hyderabad, 69 flights were reported cancelled with 26 arrivals and 43 departures.

Around 19 flights were cancelled in Ahmedabad and 48 in Chennai.

IndiGo also resumed 9 flights from Jammu Airport but cancelled seven flights from Srinagar.

A total of 36 flights were cancelled on Saturday, 18 arrivals and 18 departures.

IndiGo also cancelled 42 flights from Pune airport. Airport authorities confirmed that the they had to cancel 14 inbound flights and 28 departures at Pune, which also operates within an Indian Airport base.

The airlines company had cancelled about 1000 flights on Friday, the largest ever number of flight cancellations.

The government and the DGCA granted an exemption to the airline from meeting and following the new flight rules.
