A magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit Kolkata on Friday. Mild to moderate tremors were felt across the city at around 10:09 am.
Tremors were felt in areas around Kolkata, Malda, South Dinajpur, Cooch Behar, Malda, and Nadia. Residents reported feeling tremors for around 3-10 seconds. The tremors were felt the most in high-rise buildings. The quake is believed to have happened around 7 a.m
The epicenter of the quake is reported to have been in Bangladesh.
