“Yesterday, a daughter, a sister, a married woman, a mother was humiliated, filthy abuses were hurled at her, a slipper was raised to hit her. I did not compromise on my self-respect, I did not surrender the truth, and solely because of this, I had to endure this insult,” read a post on X by Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav. “Yesterday, a daughter, out of compulsion, left behind her crying parents and sisters and came away; they tore me away from my maternal home. They left me orphaned," her post further read.
Amidst the emotionally charged post stirring conversations across the state, a news report said that Rohini Acharya, who had donated a kidney to save her ailing father, was not exaggerating about her kin raising a footwear at her. Tejashwi Yadav, who led RJD during the disastrous campaign, blamed his sister for the Mahagathbandhan's defeat, the report said. In the heat of the moment, the former Deputy Chief Minister raised a slipper at his sister, the report claimed.
It was on Saturday afternoon that the siblings had an ugly spat, NDTV said in a report. An infuriated Tejashwi told his elder sister that, "Tumhare karan ham chunaav haar gae... Tumhara haay lag gaya ham logo ko (We lost the election because of you. We are cursed because of you)," NDTV added. It was then that the slipper was raised and she was abused.

Later in the day Rohini had told the press that Lalu Prasad's household has come to the point where those who dare to question Tejashwi's aides are thrown out. "I don't have a family anymore. Go ask Sanjay, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They have thrown me out of the family because they don't want to take responsibility. People who want to be Chanakya will be the ones questions will be asked of. When a party worker is asking questions of Chanakya... the world is asking how the party ended up in such a situation (in the Bihar polls)," she said.
"When you take Sanjay and Rameez's name, however, you are thrown out of the house, you are defamed, and you are attacked with slippers," she alleged.
Rohini Acharya’s social media revelations
Elaborating on the episode, 46-year-old Rohini wrote on X on Sunday that her family went to the extent of saying that the kidney she had donated to her father Lalu Prasad was "dirty".
Acharya said she was accused of taking crores of rupees and a ticket to contest the election by donating her “dirty kidney” to her father. “I got my father to have my dirty kidney transplanted, and today I am told that the same kidney is a curse," she said.
For the uninitiated, Rohini Acharya had unsuccessfully contested last year's Lok Sabha polls from Saran. A doctor by qualification, she later chose to become a homemaker and settled with her Singapore-based husband.
