Shocking details concerning failed terror plots have come to light following the  interrogation of Dr Muzammil Shakeel, one of the suspects in the Faridabad terror module, according to reports.

The NIA, which is interrogating Dr Muzammil and others arrested from Faridabad, analysed the dump data from the devices used by the accused to find out that they had planned to carry out blasts at the Red Fort on January 26, the Republic Day, and Diwali, according to NDTV.

Dr Muzammil and Dr Umar Un Nabi had conducted a reconnaissance of the Red Fort multiple times, including the first week of last January, the report added. Delhi Police says Dr Umar Un Nabi was the driver of the i20 Hyundai vehicle that exploded near the Red Fort, killing 13 people.

The interrogation also revealed that they had zeroed in on these dates, so there would be a maximum crowd. However, they were unable to execute these attacks.

Meanwhile, the primary investigation into the Delhi blast revealed that the suspected bomber, Dr Umar, searched for the arrest of Dr Muzammil Shakeel and Dr Adil Rather as he waited inside the vehicle for three hours near the mosque before the explosion.

Preacher arrested

Maulvi Irfan Ahmad, the person who is believed to have indoctrinated the doctors, has been arrested and taken to Jammu and Kashmir, where the NIA and Jammu and Kashmir Police are conducting a joint interrogation. Maulvi is said to have rented the two rooms to Dr Muzammil, from where over 2,900 kg of explosives were recovered. The NIA believes the sophisticated ‘white-collar’ terror network in Faridabad had links to the banned outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
