A Durga Puja (Pujo) pandal in West Bengal's Murshidabad has suddenly gone viral after it replaced the traditional demon Mahishasura's head with various political figures.
The Sadhak Narendra Smriti Sangh, which set up the bizarre Durga Puja pandal, has clarified that it was done as a part of this year's theme, 'Dahan' (burning).
It featured the chief adviser of the Bangladesh government, Muhammad Yunus, as Mahishasura, and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as a severed head that Goddess Durga holds.
Notably, this is not the first time that Mahishasura has been replaced in such a bizarre manner.
Just a few days ago, the demon who, in Hindu folklore, is slain by the Goddess Durga was completely replaced by an idol representing US President Donald Trump.
The Khagra Crematorium Ghat Durga Puja Committee, which organised the pandal that featured Trump as a demon said that it was because of his "betrayal" of India, likely referring to the 50 per cent tariffs Washington imposed on New Delhi as punishment for buying Russian energy, as well as the hike of the H-1B fee to $100,000.
"I'm Indian. Is that really Donald Trump, or something statue that kinda looks like him?" a Redditor questioned, about the Trump idol.

"This will only flatter him," another Redditor quipped about the Donald Trump idol.

"We should bring this idol here and install it in the Yamuna. There is no difference in the actions of a real person and an idol," a third Redditor said in Bangla about the Yunus idol.
