Police are searching for Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, alias Parth Sarathy, of Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management, after over a dozen students accused him of sexual harassment.

The institution is affiliated with a well-known ashram located in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area.

Police filed a case against Swami Chaitanyananda for allegedly harassing students pursuing management diploma courses with a scholarship in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.

The complaint was filed by PA Murli, the administrator of Sri Sringeri Math, on 4 August 2025, following the the incidents.

Statements of about 32 students were recorded by the police. Out of that 17 students alleged that Swami Chaitanyananda used abusive language, sent lewd text messages, and forced physical contact.

The victims also said that female faculty and administrative staff pressured them to comply with the demands of the accused.

The students said that the warden working at the ashram introduced them to the accused. Their statements were also recorded in court.

The accused has been absconding since the case was registered. According to a report on NDTV, the accused also had molestation cases registered against him in 2006 and 2016. 

Police registered a case against the accused under several sections of the BNS. They also recovered a luxury Volvo car on which the accused had installed a fake UN Embassy number plate. Investigations revealed that such a number was not issued to the accused. Several locations have been raided by officers during their search.

The ashram also issued a statement saying, "Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati was involved in illegal activities. The Peetham has also filed a complaint against him."
