In a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam, security forces gunned down two terrorists, including an alleged Pakistani national, in Operation Guddar on Monday. According to the Army, two soldiers were killed, and the anti-terror operation is continuing.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Sub Perbhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu. In a post on X, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said, "Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of the Bravehearts, Sub Perbhat Gaur and L/Nk Narender Sindhu, in line of duty for the nation. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us. #IndianArmy expresses deepest condolences and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families."

According to authorities, an Army Major suffered injuries in the operation and his health condition is stable. Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat, visited the encounter site in Guddar and assessed the situation. He praised the joint operation led by the Army.
According to preliminary reports, while one of the terrorists is believed to be a local, the second allegedly hailed from Pakistan, with the code name 'Rehman Bhai'.
