New details have emerged after an FIR filed last year by a woman who had an affair with Vipin resurfaced. Vipin is one of the main accused in the murder of Nikki, 26, a woman who was burned to death in front of her son and sister over dowry and Instagram reels.
In October 2024, a woman named Preeti filed an FIR in Jarcha police station in Greater Noida alleging that Vipin, with whom she was having an affair, had beaten her after Nikki, his wife, caught them together. He had allegedly beaten the woman to prove his innocence to Nikki and her sister, Kanchan. In the FIR, she accused him of assault and exploitation.
In the complaint, she said Vipin and his friend Tushar called her outside the village she lived in, dragged her into a vehicle, and drove. They took away her phone before she was physically assaulted and verbally abused. The two of them also threatened to kill her.
According to media reports, Vipin was seen driving with another woman last year when Nikki’s family found him and thrashed him on the road. A video of the incident had gone viral on social media.
Kanchan, who was married to the same family, had alleged that Vipin was involved with multiple women and was once caught with another woman in Molarband. The alleged serial adultery had raised the tensions between them the week before she was burned to death.
On August 21, Kanchan posted videos of her sister being assaulted by both Vipin and his mother and then being burned alive. According to her statement, Nikki was killed over a demand of a ₹36 lakh in dowry, their disapproval of the sisters’ desire to reopen their beauty parlour and their active presence on Instagram.
Vipin told them that “women in the family are not allowed to run businesses or create social media content.”
All of the accused, Vipin Bhati, his brother Rohit, their father, and their mother, Daya Bhati, have been arrested in relation to the case.
