An old video of Vipin Bhati (28)—accused for the alleged assault and murder of his wife in Greater Noida over a dowry spat—has resurfaced online.
The makeover artist and social media influencer, identified as Nikki (28), had been allegedly tortured and set ablaze by her husband and her in-laws on Thursday, after she could not offer them ₹36 lakhs as dowry.
According to Nikki's brother Atul, the video showing Vipin caught red-handed in a compromising position with a girl in a car was taken in 2024, as per a Navbharat Times report.
The video also showed that he was caught by his mother and elder brother, both of whom could be heard verbally abusing him while holding him by the collar.
While police arrested Vipin on Thursday, his parents and brother are still absconding.
Nikki's sister Kanchan, who witnessed the horrific crime alongside Nikki's 6-year-old son, has filed a complaint, urging a severe punishment for those involved.
"We were beaten and tortured for many days for dowry. They were demanding ₹36 lakh in dowry. They carried out atrocities against my sister,” she said, as per a PTI report.
“They hit her in her neck and head and threw acid on her. Our kids were also in the same house. I couldn't do anything. They tortured me as well," Kanchan added.
