Animal rights activist and former Union minister Maneka Gandhi had also criticised the order, calling it “impractical”, financially unviable" and "potentially harmful" to the region's ecological balance.

You have three lakh dogs in Delhi. To get them all off the roads, you'll have to make 3,000 pounds, each with drainage, water, a shed, a kitchen, and a watchman," she told PTI. That will cost about Rs 15,000 crore. Does Delhi have Rs 15,000 crore for this? She asked.

In another case, a video surfaced of a Delhi police woman beating an animal rights activist inside a bus. The video shows a few protesters who were detained by the police. After an argument broke out, the police officer started to slap the woman.
