A day after strongly condemning Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir's fresh nuclear threat against India, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, on Wednesday, warned Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif against issuing threats to India.
Sharif had, on Tuesday, said India would not be allowed to snatch "even one drop" of water belonging to Pakistan. A day after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, India had taken a series of punitive measures against Pakistan that included putting the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) of 1960 in "abeyance".
"I want to tell the enemy today that if you threaten to hold our water, then keep this in mind that you cannot snatch even one drop of Pakistan," Prime Minister Sharif had said.
Reacting to the statement, AIMIM MP Owaisi said the Pakistan PM's threats have no effect on India. "BrahMos hai humaare paas'... He should not talk such nonsense... Such threats will have no effect on India. Enough is enough."
Earlier, Owaisi in a post on 'X' said, "Pakistan Army Chief's threats & language against India are condemnable. That he did this from the US soil makes it worse. It deserves a Political response from the Modi government & not just the MEA statement".
He had also said India needs to modernise its armed forces. "The low budgetary allocation for defence by the Modi Government can't continue any longer. We need to be better prepared," he said.
