Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Gujarat’s Vadoadara on Monday morning as he began his two-day state visit.
Modi was accorded a grand welcome upon his arrival at the airport around 10 am before he held a 1-km roadshow till the Airforce station.
People gathered on both sides of the route to congratulate him for the success of India's 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan.
The prime minister will dedicate to the nation a locomotive manufacturing plant and also flag off an Electric Locomotive on Dahod. He will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around Rs 24,000 crore in the town.
In the afternoon, Modi will ttravel to Bhuj where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth over Rs 53,400 crore.
On Tuesday, the prime minister will participate in the celebrations of 20 years of Gujarat Urban Growth Story and launch Urban Development Year 2025 in Gandhinagar.
According to a release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the locomotive manufacturing plant in Dahod will produce electric locomotives of 9000 HP for domestic purposes and for export.
These locomotives will be equipped with regenerative braking systems, and are being designed to reduce energy consumption, which contributes to environmental sustainability, it said.
In Dahod, Modi will flag off the Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad and an Express train between Valsad and Dahod stations.
The development projects which Modi will launch in Bhuj includes transmission projects for evacuating renewable power generated in the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, transmission network expansion, Ultra super critical thermal power plant unit at Tapi, among others, said the PMO.
