The poor Bihar cop who had to ‘dance to the tunes’ of Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Tej Pratap Yadav faces disciplinary action for following the former minister’s orders. The Patna police has replaced the police constable on the personal security duty of the MLA with another personnel.

Deepak Kumar, a Bihar police constable deputed as personal bodyguard of former minister Tej Pratap Yadav was caught in controversy after a video went viral of Holi celebrations at Yadav’s residence, son of former chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi. In the video, the Hasanpur MLA is seen seated on a sofa, placed on a makeshift stage, holding a mike.

Yadav commands, "Ae sipahi, ae Deepak, abhi ek gana bajaenge jis par tumko thumka lagana padega. Nahin lagaoge to tumko suspend Kar denge. Bura na maano Holi hai (Hey policeman Deepak.....we are going to play a song on which you shall perform a pelvic thrust. If you do not, you will suspended. Don't mind. It's Holi"), Yadav can be heard as saying, PTI reported. A perplexed Kumar, although he did not break into a 'thumka', the police constable obliged Yadav and made some slight moves.

However, the revelry hasn’t gone down well with the state’s administration and opposition. Patna senior superintendent of police on Sunday transferred Deepak Kumar from the personal security duty of the MLA. In a release, the SSP said, “In light of a video circulating on social media showing Constable (Sepoy) Deepak Kumar dancing in uniform at a public place on the instructions of Hon'ble Shri Tej Pratap Yadav, MLA, Bihar Legislative Assembly, Constable Deepak Kumar has been removed and another constable has been ordered to be appointed as a bodyguard in his place.”

However, Yadav took offence to the controversy and charged even a celebration of brotherhood is given “communal colour”.
