Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rekha Gupta took oath as Delhi chief minister on Thursday. She is the fourth woman chief minister of the national capital. Along with Gupta, six leaders took oath as ministers.
Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena administered the oath to Gupta. A first-time MLA, Gupta began her political journey through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), and was elected as the president of the Delhi University Students' Union in 1996-97. Gupta hails from Haryana and won the Delhi Assembly polls from the Shalimar Bagh Assembly seat.
