Delhi election results news: All eyes are on BJP's Parvesh Verma after he emerged victorious against AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal by a margin of 4,089 votes from the New Delhi seat. The 47-year-old Jat leader bagged 30,088 votes, while Kejriwal and Congressman Sandeep Dikshit got 25,999 votes and 4,568 votes each.
Parvesh Verma, son of former Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma, is a two-time MP and has emerged as a frontrunner to be the first BJP chief minister in Delhi in decades. A BJP national executive member, Parvesh Verma is also known for his social works through "Rashtriya Swabhiman" non-profit founded by his father.

Some of "Rashtriya Swabhiman's" known activities include announcing an honorarium of Rs 1 lakh each to the kin of Kargil war martyrs, resettlement of two villages affected by an earthquake in Gujarat and rehabilitation work in three cyclone-hit villages in Odisha.

As per his nomination affidavit, his net worth is around Rs 89 crore. He claimed to own 200 grams of gold worth Rs 8.25 lakh and another Rs 2.2 lakh in cash. According to the affidavit, Verma got 52.75 crore worth of equity and stock market investments, and Rs 17 lakh in insurance investments.
Parvesh Verma's garage is home to a Toyota Fortuner (Rs. 33.78 - 51.94 Lakh), a Toyota Innova (Rs. 19.99 - 26.82 Lakh), and a Mahindra XUV (Rs. 13.99 - 25.89 Lakh), Financial Express said in a report.
Meanwhile, his wife Swati Singh reportedly got assets worth Rs 24.4 crore. Swati Singh holds Rs 5.5 lakh in insurance policies and the couple's combined wealth stands at Rs 113 crore, according to reports.
Parvesh Verma's political journey
Born on November 7, 1977, Parvesh Verma joined the RSS as a Bal Swayamsewak in 1991. He soon joined the BJP Yuva Morcha becoming its national executive member and then worked as general secretary of Delhi BJP, news agency PTI reported.
In the 2013 Delhi Assembly polls, he was elected as MLA from the Mehrauli seat. He won the Lok Sabha polls as the BJP candidate from West Delhi seat in 2015.
He again contested the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat in 2019 and won by a whopping margin of over 4.78 lakh votes.
